We are looking for a Commercial & IP Lawyer with at least five years’ PQE to manage an established caseload of commercial and intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor or chartered legal executive who can work with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to a wider commercial team. The work is expected to be approximately 70% non-contentious and 30% contentious.
You will take responsibility for existing matters, help develop the commercial and IP practice and, over time, may have the opportunity to grow a small team. The role could suit an experienced senior associate ready to take a step towards partnership, or a senior associate comfortable managing their work independently. Although you will initially be the dedicated IP lawyer, you won’t feel isolated, as you’ll have colleagues within the broader commercial department.

Responsibilities

Take over and manage an established commercial and intellectual property caseload.

Handle both non-contentious and contentious matters, with work expected to be approximately 70% non-contentious and 30% contentious.

Develop the commercial and intellectual property caseload and contribute to the growth of the practice.

Work as a specialist commercial and IP lawyer within a broader commercial department.

Manage matters with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with colleagues across the team.

Potentially help grow a small team as the practice develops.
Experience and Skills Sought

At least five years’ PQE in commercial and intellectual property work.

Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive.

Able to manage a caseload independently and contribute to practice development.

Strong communication, organisational and client-management skills.
