We are looking for a qualified corporate lawyer at senior associate level, ideally with 6+ years’ PQE. The ideal candidate will bring broad experience advising on private and/or public company mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and private equity transactions. You will be comfortable taking ownership of matters, working closely with clients and colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative team. The role involves advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions for clients across a range of sectors, while building trusted client relationships and engaging with the wider corporate finance community. You will also help manage and develop junior lawyers, including delegating work and providing guidance. Strong commercial judgement, clear communication and a solutions-focused approach will help you thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on domestic and international public and private mergers and acquisitions.

  • Support clients on investments, joint ventures, private equity and equity capital markets transactions.

  • Take ownership of matters, coordinating work and delivering clear, commercially focused advice.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and members of the wider corporate finance community.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external advisers, including on cross-border transactions.

  • Manage matters effectively, including financial management and the organisation of transaction workflows.

  • Delegate work to junior lawyers, provide guidance and contribute to their professional development.

  • Explain complex legal and transactional issues clearly to clients and help identify practical solutions.

Experience and Skills Sought

  • Qualified as a lawyer with the SRA or the Law Society of Scotland, with broad corporate transactions experience.

  • 6+ PQE, reflecting the senior associate level; the precise PQE requirement is not specified.

  • Strong commercial judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills, and clear client communication.

  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to lead matters and support junior colleagues.
