We are looking for an experienced banking and finance lawyer with at least seven years’ post-qualification experience to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading transactions, building client relationships and supervising junior lawyers, as well as the commercial judgement and initiative to contribute to the growth of the practice.

You will manage a varied portfolio of finance transactions, advising lenders and borrowers on new lending, refinancings and restructurings. The work includes real estate, acquisition, corporate, development and project finance, as well as impact investment. You will draft and negotiate finance documentation, coordinate transaction teams and work with colleagues across different practice areas. The role also offers the opportunity to advise on complex domestic and international matters, develop client relationships and mentor junior lawyers. The position is hybrid and based at one of the firm’s UK offices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a broad range of banking and finance transactions, including real estate, acquisition, corporate lending, development and project finance, and impact investment.

  • Draft, negotiate and advise on facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor arrangements, loan notes and related finance documentation.

  • Advise lenders and borrowers on new lending arrangements, refinancings and restructurings.

  • Manage transaction workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, working closely with colleagues in other practice areas.

  • Support complex domestic and international transactions, including collaboration with overseas counsel where required.

  • Build and maintain client relationships, provide trusted advice and contribute to business development.

  • Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers, supporting high technical standards across the team.

  • Contribute to the team’s strategic growth and development.

Experience and Skills Sought

  • At least seven years’ post-qualification experience in banking and finance.

  • Strong experience leading transactions, managing client relationships and supervising junior lawyers.

  • Commercially astute, proactive and professional, with excellent drafting and communication skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative, confidence and commitment to developing business networks and legal expertise.
