Private Client Partner
We are seeking an experienced Private Client Partner to join an established and highly successful private client team in Exeter. The ideal candidate will be an experienced private client lawyer with a strong background in wills, trusts, estates, probate and estate planning.
This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can manage complex matters, advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, and build lasting client relationships. You will also contribute to business development, support the growth of the practice and mentor junior colleagues. A strong professional profile, commercial awareness and a client-focused approach will be essential, as will the ability to work collaboratively across the firm.

Responsibilities

Manage and develop a portfolio of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estates and probate.

Provide expert advice to high-net-worth individuals and families on estate planning and wealth management.

Lead complex private client cases, ensuring excellent service and compliance with legal and professional standards.

Lead client meetings and build trusted, long-term relationships.

Identify and pursue opportunities to attract new clients and grow the private client practice.

Develop a strong network of professional contacts within the private client sector.

Contribute to targeted marketing, networking and business development initiatives.

Mentor junior lawyers and support the continued development of the team.

Collaborate with colleagues across departments to address clients’ wider legal and personal objectives.

Promote the firm’s reputation through excellent client care and a strong professional profile.
Experience and Skills Sought

Qualified solicitor or legal executive with extensive private client experience.

Extensive experience in wills, trusts, probate and estate planning with high net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth.

Proven experience managing a client portfolio and developing new business.

A client following would be advantageous.

Hours and Benefits
